Severe thunderstorms will develop in the area this afternoon and evening. The threat of severe thunderstorms will continue into the overnight hours over Central and Eastern Alberta. yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 10:36 a.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. This severe thunderstorm is located 15 km east of Peace River and is moving to the northeast at 30 km/h. ### Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
