yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 5:27 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 15 km northwest of Sphene Lake to Crozier Motion: Moving northeast at 60 km/h. Hazards: Up to 90 km/h wind gusts. Up to Quarter sized hail. Heavy rain with local rainfall amounts up 50 mm possible. Locations in the path: Stratton Finland Burditt Lake Manomin Dance Lake Wasaw Northwest Bay Crozier Sphene Lake Fort Frances ### Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Avoid low-lying areas. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
