For the SNOWY MOUNTAINS and BRINDABELLAS above 1400 metres: Strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS up to 90 km/h are possible during Thursday and Friday. Winds easing during Friday morning. For the SNOWY MOUNTAINS above 1400 metres: BLIZZARD conditions are possible during Thursday and Friday. Blizzard conditions easing during Friday morning. For the SOUTH COAST RANGES and parts of the ILLAWARRA: Strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of 90 km/h are possible from late Friday morning, easing by the evening. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that back country travel be postponed until conditions improve. Locations which may be affected include Nowra, Nerriga, Perisher Valley and Thredbo Top Station. Sustained 83 km/h winds were observed at Thredbo Top Station at 8:30 pm. Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and westerly winds are expected during Thursday and Friday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts.
