DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are possible for far southern parts of the state from Thursday afternoon. DAMAGING WINDS are expected to ease early on Friday morning, with continued gusty conditions possible during Friday. Locations which may be affected include Dover. Snow covered roads above 400 metres will make driving conditions dangerous during Thursday in parts of the Western and Central Plateau forecast districts. Bush walkers are advised that strong westerly winds, low temperatures and snow falling to around 400 metres are expected during Thursday. Snow may fall to around 300 metres in the southwest.
