special weather statement in effect Potential for significant snowfall this week. Snow is falling in and around Calgary tonight with a few cm of accumulation before snow tapers off Tuesday morning. Heavy snow is expected to begin Tuesday evening along the foothills then spread to the east and continue through Wednesday. Total amounts between 10 to 25 cm are possible by Thursday morning, with the highest amounts falling west of Highway 2 over higher terrain. The snow will be heavy and wet, and may be mixed with rain in some areas, so total snowfall accumulations will vary widely. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
