special weather statement in effect More rain is forecast Friday evening through Sunday across central Alberta with widespread totals of 30 to 60 mm possible. With the ground already saturated from the storm this past weekend and with rainfall totals for the month of June well-above normal, additional rain will increase the risk of overland flooding, washouts, and potential impacts to infrastructure. There remains low certainty regarding the exact location of the rainfall across the region. The area of heaviest rain is forecast to fall in a narrow band which could lead to more localized impacts than we observed last weekend. The area will become clearer as the system approaches later this week. Now is a good time to assess further risk and take action to prepare for more rainfall in central Alberta. This statement may be updated to include more information as confidence improves later this week. Rainfall warnings are likely and will be issued closer to the event as forecast confidence increases. Additionally, another system is also forecast Sunday night into early next week that may bring additional heavy rainfall to vulnerable areas of central Alberta. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
