yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 3:24 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to quarter size hail and very heavy rain. The thunderstorm is located 80 km northeast of Fort MacKay and is moving slowly to the east. ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
