yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 2:43 p.m. CDT (2:43 p.m. EST, 3:43 p.m. EDT), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and up to quarter size hail. Thunderstorm Location: Near Quetico Lake Motion: Moving east at 20 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (up to 90 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Locations in the Path: Quetico Lake Poohbah Lake ### Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
