Official SEVERE WEATHER WARNING of SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS with HURRICANE-FORCE GUSTS, VERY HEAVY RAIN and HAIL There is a risk of severe thunderstorms with violent storm or hurricane-force gusts, very heavy rain and hail (level 3 of 4). Occurrence: localised; Approaching from: west; Max. gusts: 90-120 km/h; Precipitation amounts: ~ 30 l/m²/1h; Hail: ~5 cm Danger to life and limb due to: lightning (danger to life!); widespread falling trees, high-voltage power lines, scaffolding and other (possibly large) objects; falling branches, roof tiles and other (possibly large) objects; damage to buildings; rapid flooding of roads, subways and basements; widespread aquaplaning; possible mudslides; hail. Recommendations for what to do: Avoid staying outdoors and seek shelter (e.g. in buildings). Avoid being near lakes and rivers Be prepared for considerable and widespread disruption to transport routes, including road closures. If there is enough time: secure or store away outdoor objects. Keep sufficient distance from buildings, trees, scaffolding and high-voltage power lines. Close all doors and windows. Avoid flooded areas and areas at risk.
