General Flood Advisory Under present weather conditions, At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "AGHON" {EWINIAR} was estimated based on all available data at 850 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (23.1°N, 129.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h. It is moving Northeastward at 40 km/h. Southwesterly Windflow affecting the western section of the country. The 12-hour rainfall forecast is light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. WATERCOURSES LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED : + **Pangasinan** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Balincaguing and Alaminos. + **La Union** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Amburayan, Baroro, Lower Bauang and Aringay. + **Ilocos Norte** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Bulu, Banban, Bacarra-Vintar, Laoag and Quiaoit. + **Ilocos Sur** - Rivers and its tributaries particularly Lower Abra, Silay-Sta. Maria, Buaya, and Amburayan. People living near the mountain slopes and in the low lying areas of the above mentioned river systems and the **Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils** concerned advised to take necessary precautionary measures.

Strength : Maximum winds of 130 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 160 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move Northeastward at 40 kph Forecast position : May 29, 2024 02:00 PM - 1,155 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) May 30, 2024 02:00 AM - 1,410 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook Typhoon AGHON is unlikely to directly bring significant amount of rainfall within the next three days. The Southwesterly Windflow partly influenced by AGHON will bring moderate to heavy rains over the western portions of Northern Luzon, Central Luzon and MIMAROPA until tomorrow. Severe Winds  The Southwesterly Windflow partly influenced by AGHON will bring occasional gusty conditions in the next three days over the following areas, especially in coastal and upland/mountainous localities exposed to winds: Today: Batanes, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, northern Aurora, southern mainland Quezon, Polillo Islands, Palawan, Lubang Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, and Camarines Norte Tomorrow: Batanes, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Lubang Islands, and Kalayaan Islands. Friday: Batanes and Ilocos Region HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS The Southwesterly Windflow partly influenced by AGHON and the Frontal System will bring moderate to rough seas (1.0 to 3.0 m) over the coastal waters of Batanes. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK On the track forecast, Typhoon AGHON will move generally northeastward over the Philippine Sea for the entirety of the forecast period and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this morning or afternoon. AGHON is forecast to enter a period of weakening by tomorrow as it begins to interact with the mid-latitude environment and undergo post-tropical transition.
