Flood Advisory issued June 18 at 2:08PM CDT until June 18 at 3:30PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL Persistent light to moderate rainfall will continue this afternoon. Ponding of water will continue to be possible around poor drainage areas with some minor overflow in small streams and ditches. * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Blount, Etowah and St. Clair. * WHEN...Until 330 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
