Hydrologic Outlook issued July 19 at 11:43AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK ESFAFC * Yentna, Skwentna and Susitna River basins * Tonight through Monday Night Rainfall: * Widespread rainfall of 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain is expected in the Susitna Valley through Monday Night. Hydrologic Concerns: * Expect sharp rises on many small streams and rivers. Crests are expected to occur late Monday night into Tuesday for most streams and rivers, including the Yentna at Lake Creek. * Many lower locations along rivers such as gravel bars and other spots popular for camping and recreating may become inundated with water with rivers reaching bankfull conditions. * Heavy rain may result in localized ponding in low-lying areas and locations with poor drainage. Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 11:11AM AKDT until July 22 at 12:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Yentna River. * WHEN...Until noon AKDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water could enter a few low-lying cabins along the Yentna River, particularly near Lake Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1039 AM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain across the advisory area. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly, especially along the Yentna River near Lake Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. - Anticipate water levels along the Yentna River to surpass minor flood stage Monday night, then reach a crest Tuesday afternoon. Water will recede below minor flood levels by around midday Wednesday. - For Yentna River at Lake Creek: At 9:50am the stage was 18.6 feet. Flood Stage is 20.5 feet. Forecast: A crest around 21.6 feet is expected around 4:00pm Tuesday.
