Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 4 at 7:57PM EDT until July 4 at 8:45PM EDT by NWS Albany NY At 757 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Norfolk to near Lake Carmel, moving east at 50 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR PAWLING AND NEW MILFORD. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Torrington, New Milford, Sherman, Pawling, Thomaston, New Hartford, Kent, Sharon, Norfolk, Litchfield, Canaan, Northwest Harwinton, Oakville, Terryville, New Hartford Center, Woodbury Center, Gaylordsville, Falls Village, New Preston, and Cornwall Bridge.
