Flash Flood Warning issued June 27 at 3:23AM CDT until June 27 at 6:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 323 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Princeton, Mount Carmel, Patoka, Allendale and Hazleton. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Patoka River near Princeton. .Heavy rains will lead to a rise of the Patoka River into flood near Princeton. It will go above flood stage as early as Sunday morning, on its way to a crest of 19.9 feet by Wednesday morning, July 1st, which is just one tenth of a foot shy of moderate flood. For the Patoka River...including Princeton...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Patoka River near Princeton. * WHEN...From Sunday morning to Sunday, July 5th. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 15.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Sunday morning to a crest of 19.9 feet early Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, July 4th. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
