Wabash River at Riverton, Terre Haute. Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site and Montezuma. .Multiple rounds of rainfall over the past week, totaling at least 2 to 4 inches, lead to minor lowland flooding along the middle to lower Wabash River. The Wabash has crested and is falling at Montezuma and Terre Haute and is nearing a crest at Hutsonville and Riverton. Flooding will end at Montezuma and Terre Haute Monday and at Riverton and Hutsonville by the middle of the week. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, A few sloughs and a drainage have water in them in the vicinity of SR 63 on the west side of the Wabash River. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Sunday /7:30 PM CDT Sunday/ the stage was 17.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Sunday /7:30 PM CDT Sunday/ was 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 16.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
