Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with repeat heavy rains could produce flash flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued June 26 at 6:26PM EDT by NWS Paducah KY At 626 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Oakland City, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Petersburg, Winslow, and Spurgeon. This includes Interstate 69 in Indiana between Mile Markers 38 and 52. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for southwestern Indiana.

Pike County in southwestern Indiana... * Until 1045 PM CDT /1145 PM EDT/ Friday. * At 442 PM CDT /542 PM EDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the past 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Princeton, Oakland City, Petersburg, Winslow, Patoka and Hazleton. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
