In Nebraska, Dakota and Dixon Counties. In South Dakota, Clay, Union, and Yankton Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed.

Missouri River at Springfield affecting Knox and Bon Homme Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at South Sioux City. * WHEN...Until Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Additional recreational areas and some pasture land along the river begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 31.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM CDT Monday was 31.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.1 feet this afternoon.
