In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Warning issued June 26 at 5:38AM CDT until June 26 at 12:45PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Butler, Harvey, Reno and Sedgwick. * WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 538 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Hutchinson, Derby, Newton, El Dorado, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Halstead, Sedgwick, Towanda, Colwich, Haven and Burrton. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Maize, Douglass, Downtown Wichita, Eastborough, Mcconnell Air Force Base, South Wichita, East Wichita, Northeast Wichita, Eisenhower National Airport, West Wichita, Oaklawn, Jabara Airport and Augusta Municipal Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Cowskin Creek At Wichita At 119th Street affecting Sedgwick County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cowskin Creek at Wichita At 119th Street. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Flood waters backup into residential yards southeast of river gage site along Lost Creek Circle and southeast of Central and Karren Streets. Flood waters begin to creep over 13th street in the low water spot about a half mile west of 119th Street. Expect typical flooding of low water crossings and low cropland areas as well as fields near the creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 17.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 19.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
