In south central Missouri, Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon and Texas. In southwest Missouri, Douglas, Ozark, Taney, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued June 13 at 12:07PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 1207 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles north of Birch Tree to 11 miles east of West Plains. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Mountain View, Winona, Alton, Birch Tree, Montier, Thomasville, Peace Valley, Teresita, Couch, Alley Spring, Rover, White Church, Greer, and Pine Crest. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
