Flood Watch issued June 25 at 11:53AM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri, including the following areas, Bates, Cass, Clay, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Pettis, Platte and Saline. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A very moist airmass in place will bring the potential for high rainfall rates and flooding with any thunderstorms. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued June 25 at 3:06PM CDT until June 25 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern Clay County in west central Missouri... Northeastern Jackson County in west central Missouri... * WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 306 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Independence, Liberty, Sugar Creek, Courtney, Missouri City and River Bend. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
