Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:46PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the area and bring 2 to 4 inches of rain with localized amounts up to 7 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flash Flood Warning issued June 25 at 9:52PM CDT until June 25 at 11:15PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 952 PM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Northwestern Springfield, Bolivar, Buffalo, Greenfield, Willard, Ash Grove, Fair Grove, Walnut Grove, Pleasant Hope, Morrisville, Everton, Brookline, Dadeville, Halfway, Halltown, South Greenfield, Aldrich, Sacville, Cave Springs, Brighton, Eudora, Ebenezer, Glidewell, Bois D'arc, Foose, Olive, March, Pennsboro and Stockton Lake. This includes the following low water crossings... Opposum Creek at Bannon Road, Sac River at County Road 1247, Turkey Creek at Highway W, Slagle Creek at 86 Road, Sinking Creek at County Road 181, Clear Creek at Farm Road 87 and Asher Creek at 560 Road. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
