Flood Watch issued May 23 at 9:07PM CDT until May 24 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Harrison, Monona, Pottawattamie and Shelby and Nebraska, including the following counties, Burt, Butler, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Douglas, Platte, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent heavy rainfall has led to saturated soils across the watch area. Additional rainfall overnight could lead to flash flooding in some locations. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
