Flood Watch issued May 23 at 9:07PM CDT until May 24 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Harrison, Monona, Pottawattamie and Shelby and Nebraska, including the following counties, Burt, Butler, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Douglas, Platte, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent heavy rainfall has led to saturated soils across the watch area. Additional rainfall overnight could lead to flash flooding in some locations. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued May 24 at 2:38AM CDT until May 24 at 2:45AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE At 238 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 3 miles north of Mondamin to 5 miles southeast of Fort Calhoun to 5 miles north of Unadilla, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Omaha, Lincoln, western Council Bluffs, Bellevue, Fremont, Papillion, Blair, Ralston, Wahoo, Gretna, Bennington, Boys Town, Elkhorn, Millard, Offutt AFB, La Vista, Carter Lake, Waverly, Missouri Valley, and Ashland. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
