Hourly rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible. Thunderstorms will be near... The entrance to New York Harbor and Jamaica Bay around 1140 PM EDT. Island Park around 1145 PM EDT. Barnum Island and Middle Bay around 1150 PM EDT. Jones Inlet around 1155 PM EDT. East Bay and Jones Beach around 1200 AM EDT. South Oyster Bay around 1210 AM EDT. Mariners can expect downpours and lightning strikes. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1122 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
