Special Weather Statement issued July 10 at 6:17AM CDT by NWS Bismarck ND PATCHY DENSE FOG ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA THIS MORNING... Patchy dense fog will reduce the visibility to one quarter mile at times parts of north central and western North Dakota. This includes the Highway 2 corridor from Minot to Rugby. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities, and should use extra caution traveling. Use low beam headlights and be extra cautious at intersections and railroad crossings. The fog is expected to dissipate by mid morning.

Extreme Heat Warning issued July 10 at 2:02AM CDT until July 14 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Bismarck ND * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 95 to 105 possible. High temperatures will range from around 92 to 102 Saturday, 97 to 107 on Sunday, and 95 to 105 on Monday. * WHERE...All of western and central North Dakota including the James River Valley. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ Saturday to 1 AM CDT /midnight MDT/ Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures will only drop into the low to mid 70s, providing little relief from the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
