Air Quality Alert issued July 16 at 5:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH An Air Quality Advisory for fine particles has been issued by The Eastgate Regional Council of Governments in partnership with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for Mahoning and Trumbull counties. The advisory is from midnight tonight to midnight Friday night. A code PURPLE air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the local region are very unhealthy for the general population. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding outdoor exercise or strenuous activity. Smoke from Canadian wildfires will adversely impact air quality today. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency expects the Air Quality Index to be in the 'unhealthy' range.
