Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 3:44PM EDT by NWS State College PA At 343 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20 miles west of Wellsboro, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Morris, Galeton, Leetonia, and Leonard Harrison State Park. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for north central Pennsylvania.
