Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are ongoing tonight. Locations that have recently seen flooding, or received several inches of rainfall, are at greatest risk of additional flooding if they receive additional heavy rainfall. Flash Flood Warning issued July 12 at 9:56PM EDT until July 12 at 11:00PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN At 956 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in Knoxville. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Knoxville, Alcoa, Farragut, Louisville, Rockford, Bearden and Lake Forest. This includes the following highways... Interstate 75 in Tennessee near mile marker 108. Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 373 and 393. Additional heavy rain will be moving across areas that have already experienced flooding, including Knoxville. Multiple roads remain flooded and closed in the city. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
