Flood Watch issued July 13 at 12:44AM EDT until July 13 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the following areas, Cherokee and Clay, east Tennessee, including the following areas, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky Mountains, Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East Polk, Grainger, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest Blount, Northwest Carter, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast Carter, Southeast Greene, Southeast Monroe, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Washington TN and West Polk, and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Lee, Russell, Scott VA, Washington VA and Wise. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A few isolated showers and storms are ongoing early this morning. Additional storms are likely to form later today, especially south of Interstate 40. Locations that have recently seen flooding, or received several inches of rainfall, are at greatest risk of additional flooding if they receive additional heavy rainfall. Northwestern Blount County in east Tennessee... Southwestern Knox County in east Tennessee... Northeastern Loudon County in east Tennessee... East Central Roane County in east Tennessee... * WHEN...Until 400 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 106 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen in parts of the area, most notably between Alcoa and Maryville, with amounts 1.0 to 1.5 inches also noted in the Powell area and between Farragut and Oak Ridge. Given recent rainfall and saturated ground, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
