Red Flag Warning issued June 26 at 3:29AM MDT until June 28 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT ...THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR LOCATIONS INCLUDING MARYSVALE AND JUNCTION IN PIUTE COUNTY, PANGUITCH IN GARFIELD COUNTY, BEAVER AND MILFORD IN BEAVER COUNTY, CEDAR CITY AND ENOCH IN IRON COUNTY AND ENTERPRISE AND PINE VALLEY IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE COTTONWOOD FIRE... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 489 San Rafael Swell, Fire Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains and Fire Weather Zone 498 Grand Staircase. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph. Gusts will be as high as 45 mph Friday afternoon and evening, increase to as high as 50 mph Saturday afternoon and evening, and remain as high as 45 mph Sunday afternoon and evening. Winds will decrease but remain elevated Friday night and Saturday night. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 5 to 10 percent each afternoon and evening. Little to no recovery Friday night. Overnight recovery will improve but still remain around 25 to 35 percent Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
