Heat Advisory issued June 30 at 11:53AM EDT until July 3 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia and central, northeast, northern, southeast, and southern West Virginia. * WHEN...Until 10 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An extended period of hot and humid conditions are expected, peaking on Thursday. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
